Sicilia is already a part of you...
...come and know it.

C O N C E P T
SICILIENBROEN is Sicilia indeed, in deep .
That's why we don't translate its name.
We conceive a travel not as a gap of life
but as a lifetime essential, cognitive and evolutionary
experience.
Sicilia is the land of travellers since ever.
The land where to find all and its opposite.
The most only visit a place.
We plan and propose travels to live it.
SICILIENBROEN is ready to start with you for the next expedition.
<<Travel is like a book. Some read it.
Some others write it.
So join us..if you don't want the first to get bored>>

LOCAL TRAVEL COMPANION
Sicilienbroen starts from my heart, my legs, my mind.
My name is Luca Di Giacomo, the most know me as "Nerodavalos".
After I graduated in History & Preservation of the Architectural & Environmental Heritage, I started guiding hikes all around the sicilian territory.
My job is also tour leader and local walking guide.
Furthermore I work as patrimony hunter and writer for a Sicilia book/magazine,
searching for what is still uncovered and unexpected.
My password/passions? ...culture ...nature ...travels.
Since 2006 I plan and guide young people in backpack expeditions with "no mobile/unknown destination" mode. So I walked the whole Sicily. What did I find out?
It is a neverending universe!
I will be your Trip Leader, but it's better to call me...
Local Travel Companion.

<<legend says that Sicily lays on three submarine columns... we have found them.>>
pics and videos are taken during our travels in deep Sicily.
Be part of them.
"Isola delle Correnti" (Current's Islet) is the southernmost point of Italy. From September to May the nearby shore is solitary and our guests love to snorkel where Jonian Sea joins to the Sicily Sea.
Slowness and relaxed times. That's also the secret to identify historical traces like these.
They are very precious engravings we intercepted while we were visiting Ancient Noto ruins.
Focus on the Malta Order's Knights, cross and war ship.
Ancient Noto, Sicily South-East.
Travel means "exclusive" perspectives.
In Taormina most of the people are settled for making the catwalk along the "Corso".
We pretend to embrace the whole town, while we go down from 800 mts to the sea.
Some people are used to read it.
Some others are used to write it.
So join us if you don't want the first to get bored.
“Carpobrotus edulis”, also known as “Sea fig”, comes from South Africa but uses to adapt very well on dry limestone coastal trails of Augusta (Syracuse) on which we use to hike
Travelling through new culture & nature for us means many things.
For example discovery, knowledge and... fun!!!
Lots of :D
How do you think a group can react if during a tour you would ask to stop for taking a picture of a flower pistil?
We can only assure that we loooove to do it.
Definitely.
Sicily is also high mountain. When we hike along the Nebrodi Mountains Ridge we spend the night inside an old cottage and prepare our poor cuisine based dinner meal. And we feel to be rich, very rich.
In the wilderness we prefer not to be too heavy so we mostly cook taking many ingredients from the environment.
In the pic we are making omelette browning extra virgin olive oil, wild asparagus and borage's flowers.
One of the hundreds of reasons for climbing Etna with our groups? The awsome views all around. There are not natural fences around Etna so it's perfect to admire other sicilian natural sceneries
The accomodations we offer to our groups are quiet, clean and functional, but if clients ask we can plan an overnight hiking.
At dawn the sun opens our eyes and we breath fresh air and saltiness… and admire the warm sunlight from the window of our tents. Only a fence of prickly pears separates us from the Jonian Sea
Beech tree woods, black pine woods, ice stalactites, silence all over and a sky that has fun drawing surreal sceneries.
Norwegian winter landscapes?
No.
It's Sicily, my dear!
...but the one @sicilienbroen can't wait to introduce you.
The white side of Sicily
Strolling with a group of travelers on the south-western side of Etna. In winter this environment becomes alpine and we like to offer solitary paths where to feel alone with the volcanoe.
